Numex Twilight: A firework of colours

Unique ornamental chili from New Mexico

The Numex Twilight is a spectacular breed from the renowned Chili Pepper Institute at New Mexico State University that not only enchants the eyes but also the palate. This variety fascinates with the vibrant play of colours in its pods, which ripen in the colors of a sunset - from purple to yellow and orange to red. Ideal as a decoration in the garden or on the balcony, the Numex Twilight reaches a height of around 30 cm in a pot and up to 75 cm in the open field.

Despite its primary role as an ornamental plant, the sharp, approximately 2 cm long pods of the Numex Twilight are edible and are characterized by their considerable spiciness. They are ideal for making hot sauce or as a colourful addition to salsas. Planted densely in the bed, this variety can even form a colourful hedge.
