Attractive growth and impressive appearance

The Royal Black Chili belongs to the Pequin varieties. Its striking appearance is impressive: dark purple to black leaves and stems give the plant a high ornamental value. With a compact height of approximately 50 to 70 cm, it is ideal for growing in pots or garden beds. The purple flowers develop into upright, oblong-oval fruits measuring approximately 10 x 20 mm, which initially appear dark purple/black and turn deep red upon ripening.

Intense sharpness and versatile use

With a heat rating of 8 to 9 on the scale and a Scoville rating between 60,000 and 100,000 SHU, the Royal Black is one of the hotter chili varieties. The thin-walled fruits are particularly suitable for drying and grinding into hot chili powder.
